My name is Tessa Barrans and I am excited to join the Laurel Park Elementary School team. I earned my Masters of Social Work from the University of Southern California and my Bachelors from the University of Washington. I previously was a school social worker in Moore County, NC for three years and have also worked as a medical social worker and a child protective social worker. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest before moving to the south in 2013. I am a proud mother of two girls who attend Wake County Schools. Fun Fact: I was an officer in the United States Army and I love all things UW Huskies (University of Washington). In my free time you will find my at my daughters competitive cheerleading competitions, playing outdoors, and trying out new places.
