My name is Alix Burns and I am one of the fourth grade teachers here at Laurel Park Elementary. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education which I received from ECU. I am a recent graduate so this will be my first year teaching! I am currently a part of a research project with a professor of mine at ECU that is investigating the integration of social-emotional learning into the classroom which is a three year study. 

I have always had a passion for art and the outdoors.  In my free time, I love to create relief prints and paintings along with being out in the sun whenever I have the chance!
