Ms. Ann Barksdale

Instructional Support Staff

Ann Barksdale is a passionate educator of thirty-plus years. She has taught kindergarten, first, fourth and fifth grades in FL, VA, and NC. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Ed, and a Master's in Curriculum & Instruction, and is National Board Certified in Middle Childhood. Her goal is to provide engaging learning experiences in an environment that fosters encouragement, curiosity, and kindness. She is an advocate for student success and strives to help every child become their best self. She draws inspiration from the words of Rita Pierson, “Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” When she is not in the classroom or furthering her own learning, she can be found spending time with her supportive husband, their adult sons, and three fun-loving memory-making grandkids. During her downtime, she enjoys traveling, walking her dog (Chico), and spending time in Florida and Virginia with family and friends.
