Hello Flyers!  My name is LaShara Gilkes and I am the proud Principal of Pleasant Grove Elementary School. 

I have been an educator for over 20 years.  My background in administration spans across our great district all in elementary schools, from year-round to traditional. 

I am a product of the WCPSS!  I have been honored to teach and lead in the same district that served me well.  I am a graduate of NC State (Go Pack!), Meredith College and the University of Phoenix.  Aside from my school family, I love being a wife and spending time with my family.  I am also the mother of 2 children. They definitely keep us on our toes!!
