    Meet The Team

    EBS1 Teacher: Charlondra Washington | cwashington5@wcpss.net | Assistant: Anuradha Ambi 

    Ms. Washington is in her first year at Weatherstone! This marks my third year of teaching; I spent the first two years at the Bridges program. Originally from Biloxi, Mississippi, I grew up as a NAVY brat. I have two wonderful kids: Samuel, who is 5, and Kinsley, who is 3. I graduated from Jackson State University, where I was also a track athlete, and I'm currently pursuing my master's degree in social work at JSU. I enjoy trying new foods and traveling with my children. I love hanging out with my family during my free time. 


    CCR Teacher: Ojochide Frank | ofrank@wcpss.net  

    Ms. Frank was born in Fairfax, Virginia, grew up in Nigeria, and moved to the Netherlands at 18 years old, where she completed her 13th year, in the British School in the Netherlands. She now calls North Carolina home. 
    She earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University before moving to work for General Motors, in Ohio, as a Process Engineer. She moved to North Carolina and worked as a Research Engineer before deciding to stay home and care for her children. She returned to the work force as a Building Substitute at Weatherstone Elementary School and is now one of the CCR teachers. Ms. Frank enjoys spending time with her four wonderful children and extended family members. She and her family love to travel and have visited over 20 countries including Iceland and Russia.  She also loves working on crafts, making lotions, cremes, and soaps in her spare time. 

    CCR Teacher: Shannon Jordan | sjordan3@wcpss.net  
     
    Ms. Jordan was born in New York, but North Carolina is my home. I have a BA degree in Sociology/Social Welfare from Winston-Salem State University and a BS degree in Child Development and Family Relations from North Carolina Central University. 
    Currently, I am pursuing licensure in K-12 Special Education.
    Prior to staring at Weatherstone, I worked in Granville County Schools as an EC Pre-K Itinerant Teacher as well as a K-2 Self-Contained Classroom Teacher. I have 20+ years of experience working in Early Childhood Education as a classroom teacher, Program Coordinator and lastly Director before transitioning to the school system. 
    I enjoy walking, reading books, and my most favorite thing to do is simply spending time with my family!

    EBSII Teacher: Kim Jonkman | kjonkman@wcpss.net | Assistant: Megan Gallagher

    Hi! My name is Kim Jonkman! I am so excited to be teaching EBS2 at Weatherstone! This is my 19th year of teaching, and my first year at Weatherstone. I have also taught 3rd grade and Special Education Resource. I am excited to continue this journey with the families here as we learn and grow together. I believe a great day at school is when there is productive learning, student growth, and a healthy amount of laughter.  When I am not at school, I enjoy going on adventures with friends, DIY projects around my house, reading, volunteering, and hanging out with my Goldendoodle, Gus. I also love everything Disney and Harry Potter!
    I am originally from Indiana but moved to North Carolina after graduating from college to teach! I graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana with degrees in Elementary Education, Special Education: mild/moderate disabilities, and Special Education for the hearing impaired.  I also have my National Board Certification!

    Pre-K Teacher Margo Powell | mpowell2@wcpss.net | Assistants: Amy Hall & Ann-Louise Lake

    Ms. Powell is a native New Englander and proud southern transplant. She has lived in NC for 20 plus years. Margo has 6 children, Matt, Mike, Oscar, Leah, Jeni and Kyle and 2 dogs, Maya and Coco, Mr. Hobbes the guinea pig completes the loud and proud family. Margo taught in Hawaii and Germany before taking a break to raise her family. She enjoys traveling, anywhere. Margo danced with The State Ballet of Rhode Island, in her much younger years! 

     
    Mrs. Whiteman grew up in Raleigh, but currently lives in Apex with her husband and children. She has worked with preschoolers for many years and loves the excitement and joy that they have in exploring and learning new things. Ms. Dianne loves to be active and travel, but also enjoys relaxing with a good book. Her favorite thing to do is to spend time with her family. She is excited to be back at Weatherstone and for the new school year.
     
    Ms. Lake was born and raised in England, where she gained BSc degree in Occupational Therapy. Spent 7 years living in Belgium working at the British School of Brussels as both OT and 1:1 support for children with special needs. Moved to the US in 2008 and was a stay-at-home mom for my two boys Daniel and Adam. I love spending time with my family which includes dance classes with my husband, traveling, meeting up with other British ladies who live in the Raleigh area, and horseback riding. I worked at Herbert Akins Road elementary school in their special needs program prior to moving to WES. I am excited to be part of the pre-K program at WES. 

    Special Education Instructional Assistants

    Megan Gallagher has a passion for working with students, staff and families. She grew up in New York and moved to North Carolina 2 years ago. She earned her Associates Degree at Suffolk County Community College and will be going back to school for her bachelor's degree for Special Education next spring. Ms. Gallagher enjoys spending time with her fiancé David and her two dogs. Ms. Gallagher also loves to spend time with friends and family and enjoys cooking, painting, and traveling to new places. Her favorite sports teams are the New York Mets and New York Islanders. 

    Patricia Daniels: Ms. Daniels has been an educator for over ten years in Tallahassee, florida. She graduated from Florida A&M in Elementary Education and Florida State Criminology. She has three adult children and four granddaughters. This will be her third year here at Weatherstone Elementary. It is a pleasure working as a CCR/SPED Instructional Assistant. I could not ask for a better opportunity to continue working in the field of education.   

    Angela Vasquez: Mrs. Vásquez developed a passion for serving students, staff, and families after more than five years at CMS Nutrition Services, and over seven years with WCPSS’s Child Nutrition Services, but much more now as Assistant Teacher Special Program. She grew up in the Dominican Republic but now calls North Carolina home. She earned a degree in Information Systems (Computer Science) back in the Dominican Republic. Vásquez enjoys spending time with her husband, Miguel, and her daughters, Angie, Margery and her grandson Maikel. She loves nature outdoors, mountains and preserved forest, especially hiking in North Carolina’s mountains.
