Meet The Team
Literacy Coach: Cindy Taylor | ctaylor2@wcpss.net
Mrs. Taylor is a North Carolina native. She grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. As a young person she enjoyed playing piano, trumpet and singing with the church youth ensemble. After graduating from Terry Sanford High School, she went on to further her education at East Carolina University. Mrs. Taylor always knew her major would be education. She comes from a long line of teachers. Her Mother, Grandmother and several aunts were all teachers. She has a passion for working with young children and growing them as readers and life long learners. Her personal interests include decorating, gardening, reading, exercising and music. She is married to Jeremy, owner of Taylor Land Consultants. Together they have a daughter Mackenzie who dances competitively and enjoys videography. The three of them enjoy spending time boating, attending concerts and playing with their dog Maxwell. Mrs. Taylor is Weatherstone's K-2 Literacy Coach and Reading Interventionist. She is committed to supporting the staff and students here at WES.
Intervention Cooridnator: Jomarie Zon | jzon@wcpss.net
Mrs. Zon was born and raised in Cary. She attended Wake County schools from kindergarten to 12th grade and graduated from Cary High School. Mrs. Zon is also a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. Go Heels! After graduating from college, she returned to Cary and started working at Weatherstone in 2001. She taught 2nd grade for fourteen years and Reader's Theater for six years. In 2021, she changed roles and became one of the Intervention Teachers at WES. Mrs. Zon and her husband, Mike, live in Cary with their children Layla and Leo.
AIG Teacher: Kathleen Christopher | kchristopher@wcpss.net
Miss Christopher grew up in Maryland, but has lived in North Carolina, Michigan, Massachusetts, and South Carolina. She has been teaching since 1992, and has worked at public and private schools on traditional and year-round calendars. Over the years, she has taught Spanish, French, Health, Instructional Technology, and now AIG! In her spare time, she loves to read, watch movies, cook and bake, and spend time with family.

ESL Teacher: Maria Sarduy | msarduy@wcpss.net
Ms. Sarduy is a native from Miami, FL. There, she attended the University of Miami (go 'Canes!) where she earned her undergraduate in Elementary Education and Psychology. She loved UM so much, that later Ms. Sarduy went back for her Master;s degree in ESOL. She has one beautiful daughter, Elena. In their spare time, they love to travel, especially to warm places with beautiful beaches. Ms. Sarduy is also an animal lover. She has 3 fur babies in all, 2 kitties and a puppy. Ms. Sarduy is of Cuban descent and is fluent in Spanish. Her favorite food is Cuban, of course!
ESL Teacher: Stacie Sidney | ssidney@wcpss.net
Ms. Sidney is a Michigan native, but headed south right after graduating college from Western Michigan University. She has been teaching in Wake County Public Schools since 2008, first as a second grade teacher and now English as a Second Language. She is married to her husband, Jeff, and they have a daughter named Lyla and a son named Brooks. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and playing beach volleyball and pickleball. Her favorite place to travel to is Michigan to spend time relaxing on Lake Columbia with her family. Ms. Sidney is so excited for another year teaching awesome kids at WES!
ESL Teacher: Nora Douglas | ndouglas@wcpss.net
Ms. Douglas is proud to have been born and raised in Texas. She attended the University of Texas and received her Teaching Certificate from Western Governors University. Prior to moving here, she taught Pre-K-2nd grade for many years in Austin, Texas. Mrs. Douglas moved to Cary following her husband’s job with Lenovo. Nora and David have enjoyed every minute of our town, our people, our beaches, our mountains and the southern hospitality. Mrs. Douglas’ favorite things about Weatherstone are the focus on STEM, our diversity and the welcoming staff. She is passionate about motivating her students to perform at their best, build healthy relationships at school and to view learning as a fun and worthwhile endeavor. Mrs. Douglas enjoys reading, running and traveling the world. So, if you know a place she really should go see, please share it with her.
