Hi my name is Anna Alston. I grew up in a small town in western North Carolina, called Icard. I moved to the Raleigh area when I came to college at NC State University. From NC State I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education. This school year is my 15th year teaching in Wake County. During my teaching career, I have taught 1st – 4th grade. One thing I love about 1st grade is teaching students to learn to read independently.  In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband Rodney, as well as family and friends. I also enjoy cheering on my Wolfpack during both football and basketball season. I believe that every child should thrive to do their best each day. I am excited to be a part of the Wendell Magnet Elementary School family and look forward to a wonderful school year! 

Hi! I am Michelann Rogers!  I am a wife of 37 years, a mom of two and a Mema of two wonderful boys. I graduated from ECU College of Education in 2007, and I have taught first grade ever since. I believe that First Grade Rocks, and I am so happy to be a part of Wendell Magnet Elementary School Academy of Design and Creative Arts! GO EAGLES!!!

My name is Anita Hales. I am an instructional assistant in first grade. I have worked with every grade from Kindergarten to 12th grade during my 24-year career. Children are my passion, and I believe all children can learn if given the opportunity and resources they need. I am married to my husband of almost 36 years and have two daughters and a very active grandson. My family is my pride and joy. I enjoy doing anything or traveling anywhere I can with my family.

Hello, my name is Shane Mcallister, and I am an instructional assistant in first grade. I have lived (and raised a family) close to Wendell the majority of my life. I have been married to my wife for 34 years. I have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. I graduated from Southwestern College of Kansas with a BA in Pastoral Studies and Youth Ministry. I also have an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Johnston Community College. I believe all students are special creations that deserve respect, love, and a safe environment to explore, learn, and grow. I look forward to getting to know you and serve your families.
