Hello. My name is Suzanne Demick. I have been teaching in Wake County since 2012. I was born and raised in California, where I earned my Juris Doctorate and practiced law for about 10 years. I moved to North Carolina in 2006, where I received my Master of Arts in Teaching from Meredith College. Teaching is my love! I have been married for more than 30 years to my husband Michael. I have 3 children (Hannah, Jacob, and Shayna). I also have two cats and two lab mix dogs. I enjoy working out, gardening, reading, and spending time with my friends. I love being a part of the Wendell Elementary family.

Hi! My name is Jennifer DeRoche. I have been in WCPSS since 2004. Prior to that, I taught in Franklin County for 5 years. I have taught 4 grades, was an Instructional Facilitator and I am currently an Interventionist/Intervention Team Facilitator.
I grew up in upstate New York (Hudson Valley area). While in New York, I received my BA in Psychology/Elementary Education at SUNY Potsdam and received my MSEd. From SUNY Binghamton.
I spend my free time with my husband and 2 (almost adult) children. We have 2 cats and 1 dog. I enjoy reading, listening to music, going to the beach, traveling, and spending time with friends.

I've been teaching for 18 yrs. I graduated from Edinboro University of Pa with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I also have an AIG certificate from UNC - Charlotte. In my free time, I enjoy reading, gaming, traveling, deer hunting, and I'm a huge sports fan. My favorite teams include, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Yankees, and the Boston Celtics. I love being a Wendell Eagle and love working with the great students at WMES!

Mrs. Jean-Sephestine, Instructional Facilitator/Literacy Coach
My name is Marcilyn Jean-Sephestine, I am originally from the island of Jamaica where I graduated from Shortwood Teachers’ College with a four-year teaching degree. I taught for six years there before migrating to North Carolina on an international Teaching program for the past 20 years. I’m a graduate of Nova Southeastern University with a Masters in Elementary Math and a master’s degree in School Administration from UNC Chapel Hill.
I have taught in Vance County, Durham Public Schools and Wake County Public Schools in a variety of roles. Currently, I am the Instructional Facilitator/Literacy Coach here at Wendell.
During my free time I like visiting with family in Jamaica, going to the beach and eating mangoes. I have been married for 18 years and have a 13-year-old son!!
I believe students grow at different rates and come with diverse life experiences, it is essential to approach them with patience and the wisdom to adapt instruction to meet their individual needs.

Hello. My name is Felisa Parker. I have been teaching in Wake County for many, many years. I began as a SPED teacher at Zebulon Elementary, spent many years as the media coordinator at Carver Elementary, and as a retiree, I have been working part time as an intervention teacher. I have been married for more than 40 years to my husband Richardl. I have 2 children, Harrison and Jordan, who attended East Wake High school.
I travel back and forth during the week between Wendell and Wilmington, keeping my two grandchildren, Quincy, who is 6, and Raylan, who is 4.
I love spending time with my family at the coast, enjoying time on the boat and at the beach. I have the best of both worlds! Looking forward to a great year!

Ms. Perez Leonetti, ESL Teacher
A native of Brooklyn, NY and first generation American Dominican. My family and I transitioned to North Carolina in 2023. My hobbies include singing, cooking, reading and traveling.
Of lately I have taken to baking sourdough bread and I long distance running. I just completed The Wilmington Historic Half with a goal of completing marathon in 2026.
I obtained a Bachelor's degree from Queens College, a Master's in learning modalities from St. John's University and a Master's from The Bank Street College of Education Principal Institute in school leadership. I am a former NYU Astor Fellow Recipient and New York Post Teacher of the Year. I attended The Wagner School for Public Policy at NYU for two years. This is my thirty-seventh year as an educator. I retired officially from The NYC Dept of Education in 2021 having served as an early childhood teacher, elementary teacher, gifted and talented teacher and testing coordinator, AIS support, Instructional Coordinator in early childhood for the city of New York, an assistant principal in a collaborative teaching model school and special needs school for district 15/75 and a director of an elementary/middle school in New Jersey. I hold certifications in three states in both teaching and administration. Education has been an integral part of my life and I believe in promoting quality instruction for students and advocating for what they need.
Since joining WCPSS I have served in part time assignments as an academic intervention and a ESL teacher.
