REMINDERS
- Our ❄️ Winter Learning Experience ❄️ will be on Friday, December 12th. Students will be building on their STEAM knowledge and creating a snowman with conditioner and baking soda. They will also enjoy a "wintery" popcorn treat!
- Please see the SIGN-UP GENIUS LINK to donate supplies and for volunteering opportunities.
What We’re Learning
ELA
- Students wrote a summary for “Fight to Survive” and took their assessment on interpreting diagrams and summarizing information. Students then prepared for their text-based discussion. Next week, students will begin to use the research process to research their expert animal. They will organize and classify their research into categories. Then they will work in collaborative groups researching a specific animal.
MATH
- Students have been using the area model for dividing three digits with and without remainders. When supporting students at home, PLEASE AVOID using the standard algorithm as it is not introduced until 5th grade.
SCIENCE
- Our students continue to learn about various ways in which animals adapt to their environment for survival. We are also connecting this idea to the EL focus for module 2 in which students will write about the defense mechanisms of an animal.
SOCIAL STUDIES
- We will begin to learn about ways in which factors of production are influenced by the availability of resources in North Carolina.
