Monthly Updates- February 2026

  • SCIENCE:

    • Students will learn how to forecast the weather using weather maps, including global weather factors, and discuss how the ocean influences the weather! Students will write forecasts and analyze weather data to predict upcoming events. 

    MATH:

    • We are learning strategies to add and subtract decimals and fractions. The fractions will have compatible denominators and students will learn to draw models to represent the amounts! 

    ELA:

    • Students will spend the beginning of quarter 3 reading Promises to Keep about Jackie Robinson. They will work on identifying factors that led to Jackie’s success in breaking the color barrier in baseball. They will continue to practice their skills, identifying main ideas, key details, summarizing, and making inferences to understand Jackie’s experience.
