5th grade Updates - October

Curriculum 

Math: 

We are working on calculating volume, solving expressions using order of operations, and then multiplying and dividing whole numbers.

Science:

We are working on the structure of living organisms and the major systems of the human body! 

We will also work on genetics and how traits are inherited and acquired. 

ELA: 

We will finish reading Esperanza Rising this month. We will continue writing summaries, quoting from the text, and comparing and contrasting characters, events and setting in a text.
