Hello Aversboro OWLS Families. My name is Courtney Fisher.  I have been certified to teach since 2007. I received my Bachelors in Mass Communications from Winston Salem State University. I later received my certification to teach from North Carolina A&T. I began my teaching adventure as a Teacher’s Assistant and worked my way through school to become a teacher. I later went back to school to earn an MBA and graduated with honors in 2013.

I have worked in Durham County Schools, Winston Salem/Forsyth County Schools and currently Wake County Schools I have experience teaching 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Grade. This is my first year teaching 4th Grade and I am excited to be a part of the 4th grade team at Aversboro Elementary.

Hello! I am Effie Tompkins. I have taught many years at Aversboro Elementary School, starting in 2002.  I have had the opportunity to teach both 4th and 5th grade students throughout my career.  I am thrilled to be a part of the 4th grade team again.  I grew up in Raleigh, graduated from Peace College (now William Peace University)  with BA in Liberal Studies, and obtained a K-6 teaching certification from Meredith College.   I enjoy traveling with my family and my favorite animal is a turtle. I look forward to a wonderful year.
