Hello Pleasant Grove Flyer Families!  I’m so excited to be starting my third year at Pleasant Grove Elementary!  I am a Raleigh native and a Wake County Public School System graduate.

Ever since third grade, I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and K-6 NC teaching license from Meredith College in 1996.

I began my teaching career with the Wake County School System in 1996 at Carver Elementary in Wendell.  I taught Kindergarten for 1 year and 1st grade for 3 years before taking some time off to raise my children.  I resumed my career in 2007 as a Lead Teacher for young 2’s, 2’s and 3’s classes at Windborne United Methodist Preschool in Raleigh.  In 2012, I returned to the Wake County Public School System as a Ready To Learn Facilitator at Jones Dairy Elementary School in Wake Forest.  In 2016, I helped the county and Project Enlightenment expand the Ready To Learn program to Lynn Road Elementary School in Raleigh.  After 2 years at Lynn Road, I transitioned back into the Kindergarten classroom at Pleasant Grove Elementary.  I am proud to be part of the Flyer Family!

My husband, Steve, and I reside in Raleigh with our 3 children.  My son, Stephen, attends  UNC-CH.  My son, Aiden, and my daughter, Arianne, attend Millbrook HS.  In my spare time, I enjoy volunteer work through my church and children’s scouting activities, crafting and taking vacations with my family.  Our favorite destination is Walt Disney World.
