Hello! My name is Dianna Nickel, and I have been with Wake County Public Schools since 1986. I began my teaching career teaching 6th grade language arts at Ligon Middle School before deciding to get my masters in school counseling. I took a position as a guidance counselor at West Lake Middle School and then at Morrisville Elementary School. However, 7 years ago I decided to get my certification to teach CCR, and I believe I have found my niche. I love helping children recognize their strengths and become more confident in the classroom. I have been married to my husband, Glen, for 31 years and have 2 daughters. Kristina is 22 and a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, and Megan is 19 and a sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill. We are a house divided since both my husband and I received our degrees from NC State.  My family also has 3 adorable dogs named Aspen, Sierra and Lily. I welcome all of my students and their families to a new school year, and I am excited to work with each of you.
