Melissa Hardee

My name is Melissa Hardee and I live in Archer Lodge, NC. I grew up in the Garner area and am the product of Wake County Public Schools. I attended Meredith College where I earned a degree in Child Development and a K-6 teaching license. After graduating from Meredith College, I went on to teach in Johnston County. I taught kindergarten for 5 years and 2nd grade for 3 years. I felt a strong pull to go back to school in 2015 to earn a Master's in Social Work. After graduating I worked on an inpatient behavioral health unit for a short period and then was hired by WCPSS in 2019 as a school social worker. I served the Southeastern region for 2 years before coming to the Eastern region. I am so happy to be at Wendell Elementary for another year and look forward to continuing serving the students and families. I am on campus every Monday, Tuesday and Friday and serve another school on Wednesday and Thursday.

In my spare time I love hanging out with my family and friends, going to the beach or mountains and watching a good movie/show on Netflix. I have one son who is in college at NC State, a dog named Jezzebelle, and a cat named Zelda.
