Every day, beautiful orchestral music fills the hall of our arts wing. With small class sizes in our orchestra program, students receive personalized instruction and plenty of one-on-one attention. In addition to learning to play traditional acoustic instruments, students have the chance to explore electric string instruments, like the ones pictured above. Our orchestra students frequently perform at magnet and district events, and they often collaborate with fellow musicians from across the state, showcasing their talents and passion for music.

The Academy is the only middle school in WCPSS to offer Magnet Honors Orchestra as a daily double-period elective class.

Orchestra students often have guest clinicians, including musicians from NC Symphony, NC Universities, and other professional settings.
