Hello! My name is Izzy Petkau and I am a third grade, track 3 teacher here at Laurel Park Elementary! This is my first year teaching, and I cannot be more excited to become a part of the Laurel Park Community! I recently graduated, magna cum laude, in May of 2023 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, a Minor and Concentration in History and a K-6 License.

I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, drawing, hiking and traveling! I love reading romance, non-fiction, mystery and thriller books, so if you have any recommendations, let me know! :) I also LOVE to travel! I was so excited when I was able to travel and study with my University abroad to Oulu, Finland in April-May 2023! In Finland, I was able to student teach at an International school with First grade students! After studying abroad, I was also able to travel with my family to Helsinki in Finland, Oslo and Bergen in Norway, and Copenhagen in Denmark! There are so many other places I want to travel to, so again, if you have any recommendations, let me know :)
