Hello! My name is Sarah Muscarella and I am excited to be starting my first year with the Yates Mill Family. I will be joining the first grade team. This will be my 25th year teaching and my 13th year in WCPSS. I began my teaching career in Rochester, NY in Bilingual Special Education. After relocating to NC, I taught 3rd grade as a long term sub at Barwell Road Elementary and then moved to Reedy Creek where I spent the next 13 years as a 4th grade teacher and then Kindergarten. Teaching has always been my passion and from the time that I was little, all I ever wanted to be was a teacher. 

I grew up in a small town in Western New York, near Rochester. I graduated with a degree from Nazareth College of Rochester in Spanish and certification in Elementary and Special Education. 

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Marc and together we have 2 adult children, Zachary and Emily, that we are incredibly proud of.  We also have 4 furry children, 2 dogs and 2 cats. We enjoy listening to music, traveling and exploring new places. 

I am really looking forward to watching your child grow and learn at Yates Mill this year!
