• Career Development

    Career Services is an on-campus career development service that operates under the School-to-Career Division of Career and Technical Education within the Wake County Public School System. It is the central hub for the career and leadership development for Heritage High School students. School-to-Career prepares every student to make knowledgeable career choices through academic rigor and work-based learning experiences.

    GSK 2025 Apprenticeship Program 

    Class of 2025, join us to learn why GSK’s Apprentice Program is the right program for you! GSK Apprenticeships are full-time entry-level opportunities that offer high school graduates and first year college students the opportunity to begin their career while working towards their Associate’s degree. This Associate’s degree is fully funded by GSK, which, yes, means NO COLLEGE DEBT!

    Duke Ophthalmic Technician Program for graduating seniors:

    • Students may begin the program after earning a high school diploma. Students must be 18 at start of clinical rotations.   
    • No college degree or prerequisites required  
    • Earn a certificate in one year with eligibility to take the certification exam  
    • Three months of in-person classroom instruction.
    • Nine months spent getting hands-on experience in clinical rotations at Duke Eye Center 
    • Starting pay $22-$24/hr 
    • 90% employment rate after program completion  
    • Affordable tuition and financial aid are available.
