Coffee Lodge Baristas

Coffee Lodge, Inc. has been in business in Rolesville, NC for 14 years. We are a drive-thru only coffee shop with an outdoor seating area and walk-up window. We mostly serve people in the drive-thru lane, but on nice days, we will have people who use the walk-up window and enjoy our spacious patio seating.

We sell coffee, espresso-based drinks such as lattes and mochas, tea and a variety of pastries, bagels and smoothies. We also serve ice cream and milkshakes.

Coffee Lodge baristas are the highlight of the business and a large part of the drive-thru experience!

Barista (wage listed is based on experience and is in addition to any tips earned)

Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso, tea, and smoothies
- Take customer orders and provide exceptional customer service
- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop
- Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling and preparation
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow

Skills:

-Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Cash handling: Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Customer service: Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service
- Food service: Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to follow proper food handling procedures
- Coffee knowledge: Ability to make quality coffee beverages and learn recipes for specialty coffee drinks
- Basic math: Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations for cash transactions
- POS system: Experience using a point-of-sale (POS) system for order processing and payment

Summer Social Justice Academy
The Summer Social Justice Academy (SSJA) is an intensive three-week paid hybrid summer experience for youth to explore how to respond to some of society’s most pressing issues. Curriculum topics include mental health, access to high-quality education, contact with the criminal justice system, and economic opportunities. Students will gather for a two-and-a-half day in-person opening ceremony and orientation, followed by two weeks of virtual content. The Academy will close with an in-person day of celebration and next steps. You can learn more about the Academy here.

Young Nonprofit Fellowship Program
General Services Foundation, a Triangle-based nonprofit, teaching students how to find their place in the service community through coaching, seed funding for initiatives, providing resources/networks, and a team, amongst other things. We hope to foster a life-long passion in service for high schoolers to have a community-oriented mindset, educate themselves on nonprofit topics, and access career/professional development in and out of the nonprofit sector.

All current 9th-11th graders are eligible.
 Below are the different components of the fellowship program:

• Internship: Be matched/paired with a host nonprofit you will intern with. You will be working with them on a day-to-day basis.
• Impact Initiative: You will host many small projects, and a larger Impact Initiative, to benefit your host nonprofit. This can range from events, campaigns, and fundraisers that GSF will help you organize.
• Article: Each fellow will complete an article to showcase their successes and where they’ve grown.
• Weekly Assignments & Book: To support personal and professional development, we have a curriculum with weekly assignments to help market yourself to employers/colleges, learn more about the nonprofit sector, and create healthy habits.
• Participation: Key piece to all five previous categories. Following our leadership principles and having a high level of involvement is expected of fellows.

As an intern at Charlie’s, there are various things you can learn.
Our three main jobs at Charlie’s are cashier,  grill man and line. 
We also have a food truck and we cater.
The intern will learn about each position and why it’s important for each team member to work together and communicate.

NCSU Virtual Computing Internship
The Game2Learn Lab in the Computer Science Department at NC State University is offering an unpaid virtual high school internship program this summer starting on June 21 and extending through July 30. Interns will be piloting and co-designing educational tools and software for K-12 classrooms. 
The internship will start with a computing bootcamp for participants to hone their skills in advanced block-based programming environments. Interns will then be assigned to teams where they will work collaboratively to build infusing computing programs and curricular materials for 100+ middle and high school teachers across North and South Carolina. 
Interns will also provide technical and programming support for teachers learning block-based programming. Additionally, high school interns will be able to attend weekly seminars on computing topics and research practices designed for our Socially Relevant Computing and Analytics Research Experience for Undergraduates (SRCA-REU).
