Maria Castejon

My name is María Esther and I was born in Honduras! I grew up on a farm located in a small town called Copan. That’s why I love nature, animals, cocoa and coffee. 

I  went to the university in Mexico City where I lived for seven years and graduate from a BA in Education, and a Masters Degree in Special Education. In 2012 I studied a Masters Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. I  have been teaching for twenty  years in elementary and middle school and also I have six years experience teaching in superior level. 

I have been happily married for nine  years with  my husband Adolfo. We enjoy traveling and meeting new cultures and people. I  also enjoy reading, writing, running and cooking.  I consider myself as a very creative, enthusiastic, patient and responsible person who enjoys  the challenges involved in my career. Spanish is my native tongue and sharing this beautiful language and culture  with others would give me great pleasure.

Melissa Ford-Colin

Hi! My name is Melissa Colin. I am originally from Connecticut, but I have been in North Carolina for quite some time.  Jeffreys Grove is special to me because all my children have attended school here. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, writing stories and doing what makes me happy.

Lindsay Joyce

My name is Lindsay Joyce and I began my teaching career in Wake County in 2005 and then moved to Wilmington, New Hanover County where I worked for nine years before returning to Wake County last year. This will be my 20th year of teaching and I am excited to start my new adventure in second grade. My husband is a Director of Golf, and my two boys love to be outside and enjoy playing all sports. I enjoy being outside watching my children play sports, going to the beach and watching the Tarheels play.

My name is Gina Rodriguez, and I am from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I have been a professor for seven years.

Jessica Canaday

My name is Jessica Canaday, and I am excited to join the Jeffreys Grove community! With 22 years of experience in public education, I’ve had the privilege of working in various roles, including classroom teacher (Pre-K through 4th grades), reading interventionist (K-5), literacy coach, and assistant principal. I’m passionate about growing and supporting students toward their highest potential.

Outside of school, I enjoy walking/playing with my 12 year-old lab mix, Penny, listening to music, gardening, tackling home and yard projects, reading, concerts, and spending quality time with family and friends. I’m also a proud aunt to my 5-year-old nephew, James.
