I was born in Raleigh, NC and even attended JGES as a child! I’ve spent many years in education in various roles from high school English teacher to preschool teacher as well as manager of new teacher certification at a school district in TX. My husband and I have four children, including one former and two current JGES students. I’m excited to join them at JGES, and I look forward to supporting the amazing staff team!

Hi! I am Heather Smith Franks and I am proud to be your Data Manager at Jeffreys Grove. I have worked in WCPSS for 20 years in a variety of roles: from a Special Education Instructional Assistant to Bookkeeper for Middle School, before landing at JGMES as Data Manager in 2021. Prior to WCPSS, I worked for 7 years as a Preschool Teacher here in North Raleigh.

I am originally from Western NY, but moved to Greenville, NC as I began Middle School. I attended East Carolina University and have called Raleigh home since 2000. I have 2 children; my Daughter is married and lives here in Wake Co., and my Son is a Senior taking classes online. 

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with friends & family, making memories with much laughter. Some of my favorite things to do are hiking, reading, listening to live music, comedy or cheering for either my Tarheels or ECU Pirates! I enjoy the daily interaction with both students & families daily working at JGMES!

My name is Katie Miller and it's an honor to be a part of the Jeffreys Grove family as your receptionist! I am originally from North Carolina.  However, up until now, I've only spent my adult life living in New York and Washington, DC. Most of my career background consists of 30+ years working in the legal industry between two major law firms as an Administrative Secretary. Before moving back to North Carolina, I was employed at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, as an Administrative Specialist in the Circuit Executive's office.

Hello. I am Dawn. I was born and raised in New York and moved to Raleigh, NC, in 2015. This is my 9th year at Jeffrey's Grove, and I love working here! I also enjoy watching the New York Yankees and Rangers. I love the pool, spending time with my family, especially my three beautiful nieces, my friends, and walking around town. I like to help with anything needed around the school.
