    Taglines

GMHS employs two taglines, each adopted from our identity as a WCPSS Magnet school and an IB World School.

    1. Part of the mission of the IB is to. "...to create a better world through high quality, international education." The tagline "Education for a better world" represents that mission.
    2. The tagline for WCPSS Magnets is "See things differently." This goal is also represented in the IB's mission to "...encourage students...to become...learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right."

    Mascot

The origin of the Trojan warrior can be traced back to the legendary Trojan War of Greek mythology. The war began when the Achaeans invaded the city of Troy after Paris of Troy abducted Helen, the wife of the King of Sparta. The Trojan warrior as a mascot symbolizes loyalty, nobility, courage, and leadership.

    Colors and Logos

Color is one of the most visible components of any school identity. It should be used with consistency to ensure that the integrity of the identity is maintained. It is important when producing the broad range of materials used by GMHS and its stakeholders, that all attempts are made to match the colors specified below. When choosing additional colors for background graphics and typography, always ensure they complement our core identity colors

At the core of the GMHS brand identity is our logo. The logo comprises two elements, our school mascot (the Trojan head) and the stylized "G" representing our school name.

The right logo in the right place

To increase awareness and recognition and to protect the identity, the GMHS logo should, wherever possible, appear in full color. In cases where it is possible to reproduce in only a single color or black and white, clearly defined digital artwork is available in the digital toolkit.

  • Protecting the brand identity

The GMHS logo is a valuable asset. Its success depends largely upon the clarity and consistency with which it is implemented. Using the logo correctly will ensure it is displayed clearly and prominently. Mistakes, however small, will collectively erode the overall cohesion and reduce the impact of the brand.

Some of the more common mistakes are shown below. Please avoid them.

    distorted

Avoid distorting the logo. When resizing, hold the SHIFT key to maintain aspect ratio.

    wrong logo for background

Be sure to use the correct logo depending on your background. Just changing the color of the blue logo to show up on a dark background results in an undesirable "photo negative" effect.

    enhancements

Use the logo as is. Please do not add your own coloring or enhancements.
