    Good evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements.

     

    Diabetes awareness month is the month of November. The week of 11/10-11/14, students from the Diabetes Peer Support Group at GMHS will be speaking over morning announcements to share a fact about Diabetes to bring awareness for this condition. The students will be creating a flyer and posting around the school to encourage staff and students to wear blue on Friday November 14 for National Wear Blue Day for diabetes awareness. Please join us to raise awareness for Diabetes by wearing BLUE on this date. 

     

    The Senior Class group photo will be on Friday, November 14, at the end of the 2nd block. We ask all seniors to wear blue or gold! 

     

    Tickets for the fall play The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe go on sale this Wednesday! Student tickets are $10 and adult tickets are $12 Tickets can be purchased at gmhsdrama.ludus.com . The fall play opens to the public on November 20th with a performance at 7:00pm, Friday, November 21st at 7:00pm,  and Saturday, November 22nd at 2:00pm. Concessions will be sold, and more information is available at gmhsdrama.com. We hope to see you there as we kick off the holiday season with this beloved childhood classic!

     

    Attention Sophomore Parents and Students: The 2nd Personal Project Meeting is this week, Wednesday November 12th or Thursday November 13th. At this meeting, you will share your Research document and Notes, your Bibliography, and the Planning section of the report with your supervisor. Keep up the great work!

    Good evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements.

     

    If you see a faculty member going above and beyond please take a moment to complete our Trojan Shout Out form in order for them to be recognized. We recognize all Shout Outs in front of the faculty to acknowledge our Trojan faculty who are working so hard to make a positive impact on our kids.

     

    Junior Civitan is collecting aluminum can pop tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House.  Donations can be brought to the front office or room 2126.

     

    The owner of Rush Hour Karting is coming to speak to Interact Club and friends about owning a small business on Thursday, Nov. 6th. Come join us for snacks, knowledge, and some pretty cool giveaways! 2nd floor common area right after school.

     

    Attention Sophomore Parents and Students: Your 2nd Personal Project Meeting is next week, November 12th or 13th. At this meeting, you will share your research, Bibliography, and the 1st section of your report. If any student needs extra help with this part of the project, Mrs. Bennett is hosting an after-school workshop on November 6th from 2:20 to 3:30 in Room 4101.

     

    All senior picture-proof selections must be made by November 28. Seniors should select one formal and one causal image in their Prestige portal. If not selected, Prestige will select an image.  If you have questions, please email Mrs. Easton, or students can stop by room 4114 before or after school.

    Good evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements

     

    First, a reminder that next Monday is a teacher workday. There will be no school for students.

     

    The PreAct will be Thursday, October 30th for ALL 11th grade students.  Please have your student bring their charged chromebook and be on time.

     

    Class of 2026, order your cap and gown and Graduation products at Josten.com by October 30th to take advantage of our Schools group pricing.

     

    The Might Trojan Marching Band is having a fund raiser raffle. They will be selling tickets from now until the Oct 24th home football game. The drawing for the winners will be held that night at the game. The winner does not have to be present to win. Tickets are $10 each. We have 3 prizes. Thanks for your support!

    Underclassmen Picture Retakes will be on Tuesday, October 14, during the first half of the day in the small gym. Picture day schedules will be posted in the main lobby the week before. Any further questions can be directed to Mrs. Easton

     

    Interact Club is sponsoring a Rotary Youth Leadership Weekend. Three students will receive full scholarships for a weekend of workshops and fun. It's a great resume builder. Applications are due by Oct. 31st. See Coach Byrd for more information. 

     

    Come join the Black Student Union for the 4th Annual "Too Cute To Spook" Halloween event.  It will be on October 29th from 6-8 pm on the 2nd floor.  This event serves two main purposes: Provide a fun, safe environment for local children to celebrate Halloween (they can come in their costumes) Collect canned goods to support the Community of Hope Food Pantry. Everyone is welcome to attend.  If there are any organizations that would like to participate in decorating or giving out candy, please contact Mr. Hennings.

    Senior Portrait Makeup Day will be Wednesday, October 8, in the small gym. During this session, seniors will take their drapes and casual photos. This is the only make-up day. Please remember that all senior photos must go through Prestige Portraits for the yearbook, so please plan accordingly. Lastly,  students must pick their appointment times by October 7th. Students can find the sign-up form on the school website or their English teacher's Canvas.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Easton.
