Good evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements. I hope that everyone had a relaxing break with family and is back and ready to buckle down for school in the new year.

Do not miss the early bird special. There are only a couple of weeks left to purchase a yearbook at $65. Go to yearbookforever.com  to buy at the lowest price of the year until January 30.

Senior parents, don't forget to create a senior ad tribute for your senior student. Space is filling quickly. Purchase and design at yearbookforever.com until January 30.

Come join the Interact Club meeting this Thursday at 2:30pm on the second-floor common area. Anyone who needs service hours for other clubs or to beef up your college applications should come find out about opportunities in 2026 while we snack and work together to make GMHS the best school in Wake County!

Finally, we will be having our Quarter 2 assessments in all classes between January 15th and 23rd. The end of the semester is the 23rd, so this will be the last time to bring those grades up and get a jump start on 2nd semester to have the best chance possible of success. Parents, please begin communicating with your students now about any missing work and quarter assessments to ensure those grades are where they need to be.

These are all the announcements that I have for this week. I hope that you all have a great week, and GO TROJANS!

First, Wednesday is our 8-period day. All students should check Infinite Campus and ensure that they are prepared with all late/makeup work by then. Let’s go into the winter break strong by getting our work caught up in each class!

Please join us for the Choral Winter Concert this Thursday night at 7:00pm in the Auditorium. Admission is $5, cash or card, and concessions and flowers will be sold in the lobby.

Junior Civitan is collecting items for Pawfect Match Rescue until January 30th.  Items needed are puppy pads, puppy toys, dog treats and dog food.  Donations can be dropped off at the front office or in room 2126.

The GMHS Band Program is looking for an electric guitar player to rehearse and perform in the 2026 GMHS Spring Musical, The Lightning Thief. Rehearsals begin after winter break and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:30–5:00 PM. Show dates are March 11–14, 2026.

Knowledge of reading sheet music is preferred, as the scores typically do not include tablature. If interested or if you know a student who might be a good fit, please contact Ms. Bryan at mbryan@wcpss.net  for more information.

GMHS Parents! It’s almost Cookie Time! 🍪 The PTSA needs a few more parents to sign up to send in cookies this Wednesday or Thursday morning for the staff cookie drive on Friday following the staff breakfast provided by the Admin.
