Next Monday will be a make-up day from our recent inclement weather day. Monday will be an A day.
We had excellent grade-level meetings last week where we reset expectations and discussed a few changes to help things run smoothly this semester. I appreciate the students’ willingness to listen. You can see updates to the attendance policy (to include a new system of interventions) on the main GMHS website. Please help us get every student in every class, every day. If your student’s absence is for an excused reason please submit notes to confirm to attendance436@wcpss.net

GMHS Weekly Message: February 4, 2026
Posted by Matt Price on 2/4/2026 7:00:00 PMGood evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements.
We are excited for the beginning of a new semester. Although we had a jumbled first few days due to the weather, the transition to the new semester has gone smoothly, and I can sense everyone’s refocused efforts in the building.
Students will be meeting with administrators this week to discuss updates to disciplinary codes and attendance procedures. Once we have met with the students we will be releasing all updated procedures and expectations on the GMHS website to help everyone support getting every student in every class, every day. Additionally, when students are out sick, please remember to submit notes to this email address attendance436@wcpss.net in order for us to mark their attendance appropriately. Notes must be submitted within two days of returning to school in order to be counted as excused. You can also follow their attendance on Infinite Campus. If you need assistance with your parent access to Infinite Campus please contact Ms. Warren at nwarren@wcpss.net.
Students must complete remote work from 1/27 and 1/28’s remote learning days by the end of the day tomorrow in order to be counted “present” for those days. Please check with your student to ensure that work is completed so that we can keep accurate attendance records.
Senior Cap and Gown photos will be on Wednesday, February 11th, in the Media Center. There will be no session fee. Cap and Gowns will be provided; please do not bring your own. Cap and gown photos are not mandatory, but those who decide to take photos must sign up for an appointment time by Tuesday, February 10. You will find the link on the GMHS website. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Easton
The curriculum showcase will be February 19 from 5:30 - 7:00. We encourage families to come out with your students to get information about registration for electives and courses. Students will start registering for their classes the first week of March in their English classes.
I am in hopes that the weather is done and we can all return to school as usual. Let’s all have a great second semester! GO TROJANS!

Our quarterly assessments for this quarter will begin on Thursday of this week and run through the end of next week. I wish everyone luck on these quarterly assessments and hope we can get those grades up as high as possible for the end of semester 1.
