GMHS Monday Message: December 9, 2024
Posted by Matt Price on 12/9/2024 7:00:00 PMGood evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements.
Come shop at the PTA-sponsored craft and vendor fair on Saturday Dec 14 from 9-2.
Support local artisans and student organizations while you shop. The money raised helps the PTSA fund hospitality events for teachers and students, grants, academic enhancements, and scholarships.
Don't miss the special price for early birds! The yearbooks will only be $65 until January 24th. Go to yearbookforever.com to purchase.
Senior Parents, you don't want to miss an opportunity to create a Senior Ad. There is limited space so purchase now. Ads will be on sale until January 24th. Go to yearbookforever.com to buy and create. If you have any further questions, please get in touch with Mrs. Easton.
The 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid is now open for all students! Schedule a meeting with Ms. Rivera so she may assist you in completing this application. The earlier you complete it, the more money you can receive. Ms. Rivera will be announcing a FAFSA workshop soon for parents and families to receive assistance in completing the FAFSA application. The date is to be determined.
Now that we are well into Quarter 2, please remember that if your student needs help with organization and meeting deadlines, a student agenda can be purchased on our website through the Online School Payments for $9.00. Once the planner is purchased, it will be delivered to your student. The planner is Garner specific and can be a very useful tool to help your student keep track of their schoolwork.
Attention Families: As the holiday season approaches, we wanted to let you know about our Garner Angels service project. Staff, students, and families work to help support GMHS families in need during these winter months. We collect food, gift cards, and general items to donate. If you are looking to support our school's Garner Angels service project, please see the linked flyers and/or email Amy Bennett, our IB/MYP Coordinator (abennett1@wcpss.net). This Friday at 8:00am will be our next Coffee with the Principal. Come on out for some fellowship with Mr. Price and other parents as we discuss all things Garner. Bring your own coffee, and PTSA will provide some snacks.
These are all of the announcements that I have for this week. I hope you all had a great weekend, and GO TROJANS!

This week is only a two-day week with tomorrow being our last day of school before Thanksgiving break. I wish you all a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
For those new to GMHS we have a special way to recognize teachers who are going above and beyond to show excellence in what they do. If you see an example of this and would like to share, please complete this Trojan Shout Out form. Teachers will be recognized in front of their peers for their excellence. The link is also permanently on the GMHS website.
All senior picture-proof selections must be made by November 28. Seniors should select one formal and one causal image in their Prestige portal. If not selected, Prestige will select an image. If you have questions, please email Mrs. Easton, or students can stop by room 4114 before or after school.
Don't miss the early bird special price! The yearbooks will only be $65 until January 24th. Go to yearbookforever.com to purchase.

Junior Civitan is collecting used and washed blankets, towels and sheets for Pawfect Match animal rescue. If you wish to purchase other items needed from their Amazon and Chewy wish list, please refer to their website at pawfectmatch.org. Donations will be accepted until December 19th. Drop off bins are located in the front office and in classroom 2126.

Posted by Matt Price on 11/18/2024 7:00:00 PMGood evening, Trojans. This is principal Matt Price with your weekly announcements.
First, this Wednesday is our next 8-period day. Remember to check PowerSchool and be ready to turn in any missing assignments by Wednesday.
ATTN All Parents:
Please help our SIT team gather information about Parent Involvement by completing the short survey you received by way of Talking Points. Your feedback is important to us, and we value your time. Thanks in advance for your participation.
Thank you to everyone who is dropping off their student(s) at the front of the school or using the express carpool line. We are seeing an increase in students being dropped off within the student lot either down one of the lanes or pulling into an empty spot. Parents we are asking that this stop as we limit traffic in the student lot to keep our students safe. Also, for the safety of our students we are asking that you do not drop students off on Spring Drive. With our two options for carpool, students are able to be dropped off safely within 3-5 minutes.
Now that we have finished Quarter 1, please remember that if your student needs help with organization and meeting deadlines, a student agenda can be purchased on our website through the Online School Payments for $9.00. Once the planner is purchased, it will be delivered to your student. The planner is Garner specific and can be a very useful tool to help your student keep track of their schoolwork.
