    Who is eligible?

    • Completed application including financial information.
    • Application information MUST BE TYPED or application will be disqualified.
    • Transcript from high school, college or university, community college, vocational or technical school.
    • Two-page, double-spaced essay that describes the student’s career goals and how they intend to achieve them and explain why they believe they should receive the scholarship.  ESSAY MUST BE TYPED and should NOT be more than two-pages.  The essay should show a thoughtful and original approach.
    • Three letters of recommendation (the judges prefer thoughtful and original observations).

    Wake Electric is offering two scholarships for college students: the coveted Fred M. Alford Memorial Scholarship and sixteen Touchstone Energy Scholarships.

     

    All applications will be under consideration for one of the two scholarship categories. Students only need to submit one application to be considered for both scholarship programs.

    • *Applicants must be citizens of the United States.

    • *All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance.
    • *Awards are based on academic excellence, commitment to the field of study, and/or financial need, or other restrictions on specific scholarships.
    • *Awards are placed on deposit with the recipient’s college or university and any unused portion shall be returned to the DAR.
    • *Applicants are only eligible to receive one national scholarship from the DAR Scholarship Committee.
