Carpool Expectations

Please do not park along Proctor Street or the surrounding neighborhood streets to drop off or pick up students. Students are walkers ONLY if they are walking to and from their home and have an approved walker form on file.
Morning Drop-Off (8:00AM-8:25 AM)
- All carpool vehicles MUST enter from Proctor Street at the school entrance (see image below).
- The carpool loop has two lanes and merges into one lane once you enter the parking lot area.
- All students should remain in the car until a carpool attendant is available to let the student out. Student should be ready to exit the vehicle quickly once stopped at the designated spot.
- All students should exit the vehicle from the passenger/sidewalk side.
- After your student exits the car, please remain in a single file lane, and exit the carpool loop.
- Students who arrive after 8:30AM will need to be checked in at the front office by a parent/adult/guardian.
- Students who arrive after 8:30AM are considered tardy.
- Carpool students needing breakfast should be dropped off by 8:15AM.
- All students should arrive in time to walk to their classroom and be ready for instruction at 8:30AM.
Afternoon Pick-Up (3:00PM-3:30PM)
- All carpool vehicles MUST enter from Proctor Street at the school entrance (see image below).
- The carpool loop has two lanes and merges into one lane once you enter the parking lot area.
- Carpool numbers must be visible to staff. Anyone picking up the child must be included on the child’s locator card and have the carpool number visible.
- If a carpool number is not visible, you will need to pick your child/children up at the front office.
- Dismissal ends at 3:30PM. There are no exceptions. If you pick your child up after 3:30PM, you will need to come to the front office to sign him/her out.
- Please do not park in the staff lot and walk to get your children. This is a safety issue, as cars are entering and leaving this area.
- Please do not park along Proctor Street or the surrounding neighborhood streets during carpool.
Things you can do to help support a safe an efficient carpool line -
- Please teach your student(s) their carpool number.
- Please notify your student’s teacher or the main office (919-404-3680) prior to 2:30PM if there are changes to your student’s mode of transportation for that day.
- To ensure student’s safety and limit disruptions to the learning and dismissal process, no students will be dismissed from the office after 2:30PM.
- Be patient with staff, students and other families, especially in the first few weeks of school as we all learn the process.
