Welcome to Sixth Grade, Centennovators!

 

Ms. Porter is thrilled to begin her 18th year of teaching and her third year at Centennial Middle School. She is especially excited about the dynamic reading and writing experiences planned for this year, and she looks forward to integrating innovative approaches that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and student voice.

 

A proud product of the Wake County Public School System, Ms. Porter is also an enthusiastic alumna of North Carolina Central University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Her degree prepared her to teach kindergarten through sixth grade, and she continues to bring passion and dedication to every classroom she enters.

 

When she’s not teaching, Ms. Porter enjoys reading, spending time with her family, listening to live music, salsa dancing, and watching Marvel movies. She can’t wait to get to know each of her students and is eager to guide them through a meaningful and empowering literacy journey this year.
