Ms. Barakat is excited to begin her first year teaching math! She graduated from North Carolina State University, where she originally planned to become a Physician Assistant and was working as an EMT. While in college, she discovered her passion for math through her coursework and tutoring experience. Seeing students light up when they understood math inspired her to become a teacher.

 

Outside the classroom, Ms. Barakat enjoys outdoor adventures like surfing, kayaking, hiking, and water sports. When the weather gets colder, she loves playing board games and card games with family and friends. She also enjoys quiet time with her cat, Noor. Ms. Barakat looks forward to a great year of learning and growth with her students!
