Assistant Principal

My name is Dr. Dana Vega and I am very excited to be your new 7th-grade Assistant Principal. I am a wife and mother of two. All four of us are in the field of education and my daughter and son are often seen on the Bengal Campus. We moved to the Raleigh area in 2018 after living in Fayetteville, NC for over 20 years. 

Educationally, I earned two Associate Degrees from Fayetteville Tech, a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education (SS/ELA) from Fayetteville State University, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from UNC-Pembroke, a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in K-12 Education, and my Administration Certification from Appalachian State University. I love continuously learning new things and I am a true believer that learning is something that is lifelong. 

My teaching experience began in 2003, when I taught 5th grade, then moved up to teach 6th grade ELA/SS, then moved up again to teach 8th grade ELA/SS. I also taught a Journalism class at the middle school level. I ended my 15-year career with Cumberland County Schools teaching Freshman English I. In December of 2018, I began my next chapter by joining the Bengal family and teaching 8th grade ELA/SS. I have truly enjoyed my time in the classroom and am honored to begin my journey in administration with my Bengal family!
