N.C. Education Corps Tutors
We partner with the N.C. Education Corps to recruit tutors to serve K-2 students in Title 1 schools in our district.
What are the minimum requirements?
Applicants should have a GED or high school diploma and experience with working with children, i.e. tutoring, teaching, engaging with youth activities and sports.
Ideal candidates are gap-year college-age students, recent college grads, and retirees. People of all ages with the ability to commit four months are encouraged to apply.
What is the weekly time commitment?
15-29 hours a week
What is the timeline for hiring and training?
N.C. Education Corps members will be hired throughout the school year to serve in our targeted elementary schools.
What are the benefits to serving in this role?
N.C. Education Corps members will receive ongoing training and support. Training will focus on leadership skills, tutoring, integrating digital technology and diversity, equity and inclusion. Members will also earn a living wage as compensation for their valuable time.
