Please contact our testing coordinator with any questions: shs-testing@wcpss.net

    What is the ACT WorkKeys?

The WorkKeys is a skills assessment that measures "real-world" readiness. Unlike the standard ACT, it focuses on practical skills used in the workplace, such as graphic literacy and applied math.

Why do I have to take it?

In North Carolina, taking this assessment is a state requirement for students identified as CTE Concentrators (those who have completed at least two courses within a Career and Technical Education pathway).

    What you need to know:

No Studying Required: You do not need to study or prep for this test; it is designed to measure the practical skills you already possess. To see sample questions and a practice test, click here.

Career Benefits: Based on your performance, you can earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). This is a recognized credential you can include on your resume or job applications to show employers you are ready for the workforce.
