Hello, my name is Porsha Lennon, and I am a kindergarten teacher at ZMES. I look forward to meeting the students and families of ZMES. I graduated in 2013 from Shaw University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, and currently I am attending Barton College.  I was born and raised in Whiteville, NC and moved to the area to attend college to pursue my degree. I married my husband Edwin in June 2020. We have a son Azayden who is a 9^th grader at Knightdale High school and currently plays on the JV football team.

In my spare time I love spending time with family, attending church, singing, dancing, and doing crafts. I look forward to having a great successful school year.

Hello everyone! My name is Marianna Brown. I began my journey as an IA in 2015. In 2023 I began teaching Kindergarten.

One of the greatest joys in my career is teaching kids how to read. Watching their progress and seeing their confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. While on break from teaching I enjoy spending time with my family. Our favorite place to be is the beach!

As an educator, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment is fundamental for fostering student engagement and success. In my classroom, we collaboratively develop classroom agreements that outline respectful behaviors and how students and teachers can support one another.

It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes even a bigger heart to help shape the minds of little one.

I love to shop, listen to music especially vinyl records, workout and practice yoga. I love to bake when I can and travel.

Mrs. Megert loves watching kindergartners come in and blossom throughout the year to become well-rounded students and individuals by the end of their kindergarten year. 

When not at school, Mrs. Megert enjoys cooking, reading, keeping up with family and cheering my daughter on with all her activities.

My name is Heather Pate, and I am an Instructional assistant for the Kindergarten team. I have been an assistant/ preschool teacher for the last 14 years and I love being a part of the ZMES family!  I have been married to my husband for 23 years, and we have 2 sons, Jackson and Tanner, who both graduated from ECU. My husband is a 6th generation farmer, and we live on the family farm. In my spare time, I enjoy going to our beach house, ECU football games  and spending time with my family and friends. GO PIRATES!!!
