It is a privilege and honor to be teaching 1st grade at Zebulon elementary school.  It is my goal to meet every student where they are and move them onward and upward, not just academically, but behaviorally and emotionally as well.  I love teaching 1st grade and can’t see myself doing anything else.  I enjoy seeing “the lightbulb” come on in each student and burn brighter and brighter every day.

I am a graduate of Liberty University and then went to ecu for my masters in reading education.  I have a K-12 reading certification and am master literacy trained in nc.  I also have my National Board Certification in early childhood. I am a husband to Elaine and a dad to Giada and Levi.  I enjoy spending time with my family and doing things together.  I am also involved with the youth at my church and serve on some local boards in Wilson, where I reside.

Mrs. Sacchitello is a graduate of UNCG with a double major in Education and History. Mrs. Sacchitello has taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade! ! In her spare time, she enjoys traveling the country and spending time with her husband Mike and their dog JR.

Mabuhay!!! My name is Lilian Cruz, and I'm a 1^st grade teacher at Zebulon Magnet Elementary School. I'm originally from the Philippines and started my teaching career there as well. I moved in the US with my family in 2002 and settled in Wilson, NC.  Although I've taught 1st - 4th grades as a classroom teacher, K-8 ESL and K-5 intervention, my favorite is teaching 1^st graders.  They are just the perfect bunch for exhausting my energy and sharing my expertise of building foundational skills!  Time flies so fast when I'm with these adorable kids for sure.

During breaks, I love traveling with my family locally and internationally.  Traveling has taught me perseverance, flexibility, appreciation and deep gratitude.

My name is Brittany Kennon and this will be my first year teaching in my own classroom and I couldn’t be more excited. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from NC State. While at NC State I completed student internships in Kindergarten, 1st, and 4th grade and 1st was my favorite.

Along with pursuing my teaching career, I have also been working in childcare both in homes and in a center ever since I was a teenager. I am passionate about children!

I believe every child has the ability to succeed and do great things! It is my goal to be the teacher that believes in them, helps them grow, and loves them unconditionally! I love to be outdoors, listen to music, and find new restaurants to try! I’m always looking for a special treat or delicious meal.

My name is Heather Pate, and I am an Instructional assistant for the 1st grade team. I have been an assistant/ preschool teacher for the last 13 years and I love being a part of the ZES family!  I have been married to my husband for 22 years, and we have 2 sons, Jackson and Tanner, who both attend ECU. My husband is a 6th generation farmer, and we live on the family farm. In my spare time, I enjoy going to our beach house, ECU football games  and spending time with my family and friends.
