Announcements for 1-20-16
As many of you already know, all WCPSS after school activities and events have been cancelled today due to the pending bad weather system. Please make sure that you are checking with your local media outlets for updates in weather, closures or delays of school. You may also go on-line to the WCPSS website, our own WES website or twitter feed to receive updates. Please also note that you may sign up for emergency notifications or alerts by going to the Wake County Public Schools website and clicking on the parent drop down menu.
Jungle Book rehearsal has been canceled for this evening. Please refer to the email sent to the performer families this afternoon.
Carpool families, we wish to remind you that it is extremely important that you follow our traffic pattern for drop-offs or pick-ups in the morning and afternoon. Please do not go to our back parking lot to pick up your child or use it for a turn around to pick up your child on our drive. This is extremely dangerous for the children. We did not institute this procedure to inconvenience anyone, it is for the safety and security of your child ( I am sure that a little inconvenience is okay if it means that your child is not harmed). Please help us to insure that your child arrives and leaves safely each day.
Please remember that Yearbook orders are due this Friday, Jan. 22nd. This is the last opportunity for a Yearbook purchase and I know that you do not wish to miss out on having a photo record of your child's school year this year.
And don't forget "An Evening With The Eagles" is rapidly approaching. Your child will receive a flyer to bring home to their families about our PTA adult reception and benefit coming up on Friday, March 18th . This will be a fantastic event with lots of cool auction items - Disney- and etc.
That's all for now. Gooooo Eagles!
Announcements for 1-12-16
This Friday, January 15th is an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at 1:15 that afternoon. Please make sure that arrangements have been made to pick up your kids.
School will be closed on Monday, January 18th in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's birthday.
There is also no school for students on Tuesday, January 19th due to a county-wide teacher workday.
We want to welcome everyone back and hope that you all had an enjoyable and restful break. It was very exciting to see all of the smiling faces this morning and I know we are all ready to get back and "buckle down" for some hard work and learning.
Families our PTA would like remind you that yearbook orders need to be submitted ASAP, as our order numbers need to be given to the publisher soon.
This Wednesday, Jan. 6th we will be hosting two Open House sessions. One will be held at 12:00 and the other at 5:30. These sessions will begin in our media center with an introduction by our principal and end with a tour conducted by some of our parents. These sessions are for prospective parents/families who wish to learn a little more about the school. If you know any families who are interested in learning more about our school prior to making a decision to attend, please pass on this information.
Please be aware that as it gets colder, we are subject to weather conditions that may not be ideal. Please make sure that you are paying attention to your local media stations for any changes in school days or delays. You may also monitor our district's twitter account or sign up for school status updates at

In speaking about the weather, please also make sure that if you are dropping your child off in the morning that you are not dropping them off before 8:45 am. As I have said several times already, we do not have supervision for them before school and children will not be allowed in the building before 8:45. Therefore children left here could be subject to some extreme temperatures and exposure. If you need supervision for your child before 8:45 am please contact our Before School Care Program. Please help us keep your children safe and well.
That's all for now! Goooooo Eagles!
