Announcements for 12-16-16
In light of our short week next week, we decided to do our weekly announcements a little early.
Please note that next Wed. Dec. 21st, will be our last day for students as we will be dismissing for our Winter Holiday Break. Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 3rd.
Students wishing to audition for "Seussical", auditions will be next Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 19th and 20th) from 4:00-5:30 pm. They will be here at Wakefield Elementary, in our multi-purpose room. Student rides home must be here by 5:30 pm as this is a Wakefield High School production and supervision after 5:30 is not available (no elementary staff will be here).
Our PTA is sponsoring a holiday student store, called the "Penguin Patch Holiday Shoppe". A flyer will be coming home pertaining to this in-school event. Students will have an opportunity to "shop" for holiday presents and items next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
We are very excited to announce that coming up after our winter break, students will have an opportunity to participate in multiple after-school clubs beginning in February. Some of the clubs offered are: Super Scientists- Exploring STEM through stories, Upcycled Art, Master Chef Jr., Crafty Kids, Painting with the Masters,Crack The Code- Mystery Club, STEMtastic Scientists, Digital Adventures-Exploring Technology and Literature, Author!Author! and Brain Busters. So stay tuned for information coming home about these exciting clubs.

Announcements for 12-12-16
All student progress reports should have come home by today. Please make sure that you have a chance to review your child's progress with them.
Our Chorus will be performing their musical "Nutcracker" this Thursday, Dec. 15th at 6:00pm in our Gym. We hope that you will be able to attend.
As our weather turns colder and we are subject to weather events, please make sure that you are monitoring your local news media outlets, and the WCPSS website for delays or cancellations. For further information pertaining to district inclement weather procedures and practices, please go to the WCPSS website under the Parent Tab for Safety and Emergencies.

Announcements for 12-5-16
Families, our Lost and Found is becoming quiet large. Please ask your child to check our "Lost and Found" for any missing items. Any remaining items at our holiday break Dec.22nd, will be donated to our local Goodwill.
Our Student Council Clothing and Food Drive starts today and runs through Dec. 16th. Please donate non-perishable food items and gently used clothing (especially coats). Student council will be collecting items daily from hallway boxes.
Interim reports will be coming home this week. Please make sure that you are checking your child's backpack each day for any homework or information. Please also make sure that you continue to monitor our Google calendar located on the front of our school webpage for any upcoming events and activities.
