Announcements for 4-25-16
Families, please remember that you can not drop your child off at school before 8:45 am in the morning. The children who are left there are unsupervised. We have had some children recently who's parents have left them there unsupervised not making good decisions. If your child continues to be left before 8:45, you will be referred to our social worker. Please also remember that we have Before School Care available for all of our students located in our cafeteria. Please contact our Before School Care Coordinator if you need this option.
The Annual Spring Fling is this Saturday, April 30th from 11-4pm. In addition to the food, snacks and games, we are pleased to announce that we will have a belly dancer teaching us how to do shimmies at 11:30, and that Lee Brothers Taekwondo will be performing at 12:30, and then doing some one-on-one work the rest of the event. Our school store will also be open for business selling merchandise from 25-50% off. Also, please send in your order forms for advance tickets!
Do not forget that tomorrow is Spirit Day at Tlaquepaque (pronounced Tuh-lah-kay-pah-kay) is all an all-day event but they will have a face painter there from 5-8 for our event! Just one more reason to go!

Announcements for 4-18-16
Families, do not forget that tomorrow night is our "Math Round-up Night" for students and parents. For those of you who have a k-2 student and who have wondered about this "Common Core" math thing, you will have an opportunity to learn and experience what your child learns and experiences each day by participating in some fun math activities. For those of you who have a 3-5 student, you will have an opportunity to hear from their teachers about how to prepare your child to do well on the math EOG. We hope to see all of you there and know it will be a very fun, useful and informative program. So don't forget the event is tomorrow, April 19th from 6:00-7:00 pm.
Parents we have couple of important PTA events coming up soon that we would like to remind you of. First, on April 26th, Tiaquepaque is hosting an all-day Spirit Day for WES. Remember that our Spirit Days and nights are an important fundraiser for our PTA. And speaking of "fun"draising - Don't forget on April 30th we will be hosting our "Spring Fling"(emphasizing the "fun" in fundraising). It will be day of much fun for everyone.
Parents we also wish to remind all of our families that as the weather gets warmer, please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately (see our dress code located in the front of the student agenda) and wearing appropriate and safe shoes for PE and recess (closed toe and straps on the back of the shoes) - please no flip flops.

Announcements for 4-11-16
Rising 6th grade families, we would like to remind you that Wakefield Middle will be conducting their 6th grade Orientation this week on Thursday, April 14th from 6:00-7:30. If you have a rising 6th grader and would like to know more about the middle school, this will be a great event for you to attend.
Parents, we are excited to announce a new after school program that we will be starting soon. You will be receiving a brochure about BRIXOLOGY in your Monday folder. The program will begin on April 28th 4-5:30 and run through June 2nd.
Fourth grade parents please remember that your children will be going on a Field Trip to Carolina Beach this Wednesday, April 13th. Please make sure that you have your child here by 7:30 am ready to go. The children will return to the school at 7:30 pm. Please make sure that your child has a ride here to get them by 7:30 pm. Further information pertaining to this trip will be found in your child's Monday folder tonight.

Welcome Back! We hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable break and are ready to finish strong.
On Thursday this week, we will be conducting our Parent Academy at East Millbrook from 5:30-7:30. 3-5 LEP Parents would have already received an invitation. If you have any questions pertaining to this program please contact our Social Worker, Deanna Bagley.
We have a number of events coming up so please continue to check our Google Calendar located on the front page of our website so that you do not miss anything.
