We want to thank everyone who came and participated or helped with the Costume Bingo last Friday.  We had one of the largest crowds ever attend and fun was had by all.  We also want to thank our wonderful PTA for sponsoring this event.

Eagles, don't forget that this week is our Spirit Week celebrating National Bully Prevention Month.  Today is "Twinkle Toes" day.  Please refer to the flyer sent home last week for the remaining theme days.

And, tomorrow (Wed. Oct. 26th) is our picture Re-take day.

We also want to remind everyone that this Friday, Oct. 28th is Field Day!  So come dressed to play!  Parents we are still looking for volunteers.  If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact Mr. Hill.

Please also remember that Monday, Oct. 31st will be a regular school day.  This is our Hurricane Make-Up Day established by WCPSS.  Our doors will open at 8:45 for the arrival of students.

     Announcements for 10-18-16
Tonight, Monday Oct. 17th we will be holding our 3rd grade Read To Achieve information night for parents at 6:00 in the media center at East Millbrook Middle School.  We will be serving pizza donated by our YMCA for any participating parents and families also tonight.

Wakefield Familes, do not forget that this Friday, Oct. 21st is an Early Release Day.  We will be releasing students at 1:15 in order for our staff to participate in professional development.  Please make sure that your child has a way home by 1:15 because we will not be able to provide supervision for them after dismissal.

Parents, we are noticing many students have already accumulated several absences and/or tardies this year.  Excessive absences often have a negative impact on academic achievement so it is important that students are present at school as often as possible.  Information detailing the attendance policy and what constitutes an excused absence is on our school website as well as the WCPSS website.  Please remember that the tardy bell rings at 9:15 and students should be in the classroom by this time.  If there are issues impacting your child's regular, prompt attendance, please contact our school social worker, Mrs. Bagley.

From Oct. 24th-Nov.4th, we will be collecting new and gently used pants for a local agency, Note in the Pocket.  This organization strives to ensure children in Wake County have appropriate clothing to wear to school but their supply is currently limited in all sizes!  Please consider donating!  We will have a labeled box in the front lobby area beginning 10/24.

Wakefield Eagles we will be celebrating Unity Day on this Wed., Oct. 19th by wearing orange that day!  Unity Day is a day in which we are showing that we are united against bullying.  So let's show our UNITY!

We will also be celebrating Spirit Week next week beginning on Monday, Oct. 24th  with Millionaire Monday.  Wakefield Eagles will be demonstrating that they are "too fresh" to bully and are to dress to impress. Please see your child's Monday folder tonight for the theme for the rest of the week.

Parents, please also note that all Wake County schools will open on a 2-hour delay on election day Tuesday, November 8th.

That's all for now!  Goooooooo Eagles!
