August 2016 Announcements

  • Good afternoon Wonderful Wakefield Eagle Families!  This is your principal, Ms. Keech with the weekly announcement.

    Announcements for 8-29-16
What a great opening this morning!  Loved seeing all of the smiling faces and hearing the laughter as students entered the building.

We have just a few reminders for our families today:

Please make sure that you check your child's backpack for the Monday folder as it contains alot of important information.

Bus parents, please make sure that your child knows what bus they are on and if you are a parent of a kindergarten student or first grader, you must be at the bus stop to receive your child in the afternoon or the bus driver will bring your child back to school and you will have to come to school to retrieve your child.

Carpool parents, please make sure that your child knows their carpool number, you have your carpool tag for this year and that you have reviewed our carpool procedures included in your summer packet or watched our video.  We do not have parking in the back parking lot and you will not be able to park there.  Please help us keep our carpool efficient, safe and quick by following our procedures.

Walker parents, please make sure that you are waiting behind our parent lines for students to exit the building each day.  This helps us get the students out of the building safely and without congestion. Please also refrain from bringing the family pet with you onto our campus, it causes fear for both the animal and the children and in some cases can become a safety hazard.

All parents, please remember to make sure that if you are checking your child out early to get them by 3:00.  Checkouts after 3:00 will have to wait until dismissal of 3:45. This is to help us get through the end of the day dismissal procedures without interruption.

Thanks for a wonderful first day of school!

That's all for now!  Goooooooo Eagles!

    Announcements for 8-23-16
We hope everyone has had a great summer and are getting super excited for the start of school.  This week on Wed. Aug. 24th we will be conducting our "Wakefield Welcome Walk" in which you will have an opportunity to meet your teacher and see who is in your class.  We sent home teacher assignments already in our summer mailer along with other important information to help you as you begin to plan for the start of school.  Please refer to our website for supply information.

On Thursday, Aug. 25th from 9-12 we are asking for parent volunteers to come and help us spread mulch under our new playground equipment.  Please note that if we are unable to get enough mulch spread, our students will not be able to use the equipment until that is done. Spreading the mulch was an expense that our PTA chose to not pay for and a service that our school district does not provide.  Therefore, it is important for us to utilize our volunteer base for this project. Please make sure that you bring your garden tools with you if you come. Wheel barrels are welcome.

On Friday, Aug. 26th we will be holding our kindergarten playdate from 10:00 -11:30.

And on Monday, Aug. 29th will be the first day of school for all except kindergartners who will be participating in our staggered entry program.  Please make sure that you know how your child is getting to and from school on that day and have made proper arrangements.  Parents of students who are in kindergarten and first grade and ride the bus, you must be at the bus stop to pick up your child or the  bus driver will bring your child back to school for you to pick-up at the school.

Carpool parents, please make sure that you review our carpool map and procedures.  If you do not follow the procedures or use carpool appropriately, you will cause our carpool to jam and take much longer.  Please also make sure that your child knows their carpool number, how to unlock and lock their safety belts prior to their start date.

We are looking forward to this being the best year ever for all of our Wakefield Elementary students!

That's all for now. Goooooooooooooo Eagles!
