Don't forget our Book Fair is still going! So if you are still looking for a perfect gift for your child, come and purchase a book!

Our school social worker would like to share with you that in recognition of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, teachers may elect to lead a brief informational activaity with students over the next few weeks. We also wish to thank you for your recent donations to our Note in the Pocket pants drive which directly supports local Wake County families in transition or need.
Our Holiday Giving Tree symbolizes the spirit of the season and the giving nature of our WES school community. Beginning 11/16 , tags will adorn our tree located in the front office. If you would like to support a WES student in special need this season, please pick up a tag at your convenience and sign out in the notebook. We appreciate your generosity!
Wakefield families, have you been finding clumps of blue tickets in your child's pocket while doing laundry? Stop washing them and don't throw them away! Our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) team has implemented a new system to encourage our positive SOAR behavior. Students are receiving blue tickets from staff around the school when they are "caught" showing SOAR. Students can trade their tickets in for prizes from our SOAR cart every two weeks. Some of our children may already be coming home with some of the prizes that they traded their tickets in for. So stop washing and throwing them away! Help us support your child's positive behavior!
Parents of Wakefield Middle School students. If your middle schooler is coming down to the elementary to either catch a ride through our carpool with an elementary student or perhaps walking an elementary school sibling home, please remind them that they are still expected to exhibit appropriate behavior on our campus. Middle school students who are causing a disruption, vandalizing elementary property, and violating Wake County discipline policies could be asked to leave our campus, face possible suspension from their school , receive tresspassing charges and or face Raleigh Police Department citations. We want to encourage community involvement, support our middle and high school students but all of our students must be responsible and appropriate while on our campus.
That's all for now! Gooooooooo Eagles!
