I am thrilled to join the York family this year - my 20^th year of teaching! I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Miami. My husband is retired from the Air Force, so I have taught in Florida, Colorado, Virginia and North Carolina. I have experience in every grade from PreK to 5^th, but I have spent most of my teaching career in a 1st grade classroom. I have a son who just graduated from NC State and is working in Charlotte, and a daughter who is a Junior at Appalachian State.  I love reading, walks on the beach, making jigsaw puzzles, attending sporting events, and planning weekend trips to visit my kids. I am looking forward to working with my fellow staff members and families to make this school year my students' best year yet!

I am ecstatic to join the Bulldog family for the 2024-2025 school year. I am a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Raleigh in the summer of 2011. I have taught with the Wake County School System for the past twelve years, the last ten being in First Grade. There is something extra special about this age group that has my heart! A fun fact about me is that I LOVE to match - headband, earrings, and top (in particular)...sometimes even my shoes. My largest honor in life is being 'Auntie Megs' to my wonderful niece and nephew, who I dote about daily. Outside of school, I enjoy being a Little Free Library steward, sharing my love for reading with the community. As a cancer survivor, I am also a big advocate for the American Cancer Society and METAvivor organization, through fundraising and yearly walks.

I'm so excited about another great year at York!  I’ve spent the last 17 years teaching K-4th grade in WCPSS.  I love helping children become passionate about learning and building self-confidence as learners.  My husband and I are from opposite ends of PA and have spent the past 27 years living in N.C.  We have raised two wonderful daughters in the WCPSS. We love to enjoy the natural beauty of the state.  We hike the many trails in N.C. with our dog Murphy, boat on Falls Lake with our daughters, can seasonal fruits and vegetables from the N.C. State Farmers Market, and try new recipes together. I’m looking forward to another great year in 1st grade!

I grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. I earned both my Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Elon University. In addition, I am a National Board Certified teacher. I have had the pleasure of teaching Kindergarten through 2nd grade for 20 years. I love working with young students because I know how important a strong foundation is for their future. I have two children who also attend York.  I enjoy reading, exercising, traveling, and hanging out with my family. I look forward to another great year in first grade!

I am from Elizabeth City, NC. I received my bachelors degree in Child Development and Family Relations from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. I obtained my North Carolina Professional Educator License for grades K-6 in 2006 and for the past 17+ years, have taught first, second, and third grades. First grade holds a special place in my heart as it is a pivotal year in a child's academic and social development. Having the opportunity to witness a child’s growth in these areas is beyond rewarding. Outside of teaching, I enjoy being a wife and a mother to our son, who also attends York Elementary. I enjoy going on local weekend adventures with my family, traveling (Disney & Beach), and reading non-fiction.

After student teaching at York, I graduated from NC State with a degree in Elementary Education with a STEM Concentration. I officially joined the York Family after graduation and have loved teaching 1st Grade ever since! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time in nature, visiting the beach, and going to concerts. Teaching is a passion of mine that I feel so lucky to be able to do every day. 

Hello Bulldogs! I am so excited for another wonderful year at York. I am from the vibrant city of Bristol, England and moved to the US in 2021. My family dog growing up was an English Bulldog named Billy, so I feel right at home here at York! I now have two cats named Nip and Hawthorn. I love nothing more than crafting, reading, and making yummy food in my spare time. I cannot wait to see what this year brings. Go Bulldogs!

This is my fourth year of teaching and my third at York. I've lived in Raleigh all of my life. In my free time, I love to hang out with friends and family as well as cheer for East Carolina Pirates.
