Mrs. Danielle Osterstrom
My name is Danielle Osterstrom. I began my teaching career in 2004. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and a K/1 combination. I grew up in Buffalo, NY. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia State. I earned my National Boards in Early Childhood.
My husband and I met while student teaching at the same school in New York. We moved to Raleigh in 2005. My husband teaches 6th-grade science at Pine Hollow Middle School. We have a son named Ethan and two dogs (Duke and Rusty). I enjoy listening to music, running, shopping, watching football (Go Bills), and spending time with my family.
I became a North Ridge Unicorn in 2017! We have so many fun events planned for the year. I look forward to getting to know your child and watching them learn and grow.

Ms. Samantha Scudiero
Hi Unicorns! My name is Samantha Scudiero and I am excited to be going on my 13th year teaching and my 8th year at North Ridge! After graduating, I taught first grade, third grade, and then kindergarten for 6 years. I am so excited to be back in Kindergarten this year and start a new journey with your child.
I’m a New Jersey native who moved here 6 years ago and immediately fell in love with teaching at North Ridge! You will love it here! Go Unicorns!
My uncle is the author of the Amelia Bedelia books, so they are one of my FAVORITE children’s series to share with my students. When I am not teaching, I enjoy working out, the beach, and spending time with my friends and family. I also LOVE to travel and explore new places, which has led me to my hobby of taking photographs. In addition to checking out new restaurants in the area. I am excited to get to know all of my students this year as we learn and grow together. We are going to have so much fun

Mrs. Kim Whitaker
Hello! My name is Kim Whitaker. I graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and later earned my master’s degree in reading education. I taught kindergarten in Greenville, NC before relocating to Raleigh. I have been teaching kindergarten at North Ridge since 1999. I am a native of Greensboro, NC and now reside in Raleigh with my husband and two boys. I enjoy walking, going to the beach and spending time with my family and friends. I am also a huge basketball and football fan!

Hello! My name is Heather Williams. I have four years of experience working with special needs children across multiple grade levels in Georgia and one outstanding year of teaching kindergarten and five in second grade here at North Ridge Elementary School! I will be teaching Kindergarten this year and I’m thrilled to be here! Between the fabulous teachers, students, and parents at NRES, I have nothing but words of praise and gratitude! Teaching here has been a dream come true!
While I’m obviously passionate about teaching, I also enjoy curling up with my cat and a good book, as well as writing poetry, drawing, painting, photography, and scrapbooking in my spare time. You might even spot me at a local park or nature trail walking my Morkie with my husband on the weekends.
I look forward to another incredible year helping to inspire and empower my students to realize their full potential and let their light shine bright!
