Mrs. Kali Blaine
My name is Kali Blaine, and I am very excited to be teaching first grade at North Ridge. I grew up in Shelby, NC. I graduated from Meredith College in 2008 with a BA in Mathematics and a K-6 teaching licensure. I went back to Meredith for graduate school and graduated in December 2013 with an M.Ed. in Reading. Prior to joining North Ridge, I taught in Johnston County for five years, and Fuquay-Varina for one year.
I love teaching, and I love my students as if they were my own children. I work hard to create a classroom community that each student enjoys being a part of, and wants to come to school every day. I am very passionate about teaching math, and I try to instill that love for math in each of my students.

Mrs. Lindsey Brunker
Hello North Ridge Families! My name is Lindsey Brunker and I have been teaching in Wake County since 2009! I love being a part of the North Ridge Family and I have taught First, Second, and Fourth Grade and also spent time out of the classroom doing First Grade Interventions and Extensions. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!).
I love living in Raleigh with my husband Oree, my son Graham, and my daughter Loften. We love visiting the beach, the mountains and spending time with family and friends. I love reading and sports, especially Gymnastics; I competed at the collegiate level and coached the sport for 15 years.
In the classroom, I am passionate about finding each of my students' fullest potential! My passion comes from building relationships with my students and keeping them throughout the years. I love finding the spark in their learning and using that to help them grow as learners and as individuals. I look forward to working together to make this school year successful and meaningful for your students.

Mrs. Katie Currin
Hi, my name is Katie Currin and I’m excited to be teaching 1st grade at North Ridge Elementary! I was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia with my 2 younger brothers. My mom still lives there, so I visit her whenever I can.
In the spring of 2000, I graduated from Marshall University with a B.A. in Elementary Education. I moved to Raleigh that summer and started my teaching career at The Franciscan School, where I taught 1st grade for five years. I was hired at Leesville Elementary to teach 3rd grade in 2005 and then in 2008 I switched to 2nd grade. I taught there until 2012 when I came to North Ridge.
On May 1, 2009 I married my best friend in Jamaica. 19 of our closest family and friends tagged along to help us celebrate. It was an awesome adventure! Soon after, my husband and I bought a house and moved into the North Ridge neighborhood. Our world was turned upside down in the BEST way on June 25, 2015 when my daughter, Elizabeth, was born! Being a mom is the best job EVER (besides teaching, of course!) We also have a dog named Bailey. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, reading, working in the yard, watching movies, going to the beach, and hanging out with family and friends.

Mrs. Jennifer Ligon
My name is Jen Ligon, and I am so excited to be your child’s first-grade teacher! I earned my M.A. in teaching from NC State in 2014, and North Ridge is where I completed my student teaching. I loved being a North Ridge Unicorn so much that I never left! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Joshua, and my children Maisie and Henry. I also love reading, watching movies, visiting museums, and traveling. I am looking forward to having an awesome school year!

Hello, students and families! My name is Christine Robertson. I have been teaching at North Ridge Elementary since the 2010-2011 school year. I am thrilled to be on the first-grade team and am looking forward to another amazing school year!
I attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where I received both my Bachelors in Elementary Education and my Masters in Reading. I was married in the summer of 2013 to my husband, who is also a teacher! In my time away from school I enjoy cooking, reading, walking my dog Penny, visiting the beach, and spending time with friends and family.
I am delighted to be part of the North Ridge family and I look forward to getting to know your family.

Mrs. Amy Vancura
Hello families! My name is Amy Vancura and I'm excited to be your child's teacher this year. I began my teaching career in 2005. After time at home with my children, I am happy to be back in elementary school. I’ve taught Pre-K through 2nd grade.
I am a North Carolina native and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Elementary Ed. My husband and I have two children, Mia and Anthony. Both children are NRE alumni and are currently in middle school. In my free time, I love to knit or read. I also love to run and do yoga. I look forward to working with you and your child to make this school year the best one yet!
