Internship

  • Students complete a 120-hour internship between their junior and senior years. In the first semester of their senior year, students are enrolled in a credit Canvas course for the internship.

In this course, students will submit the required forms for their work placement and complete assignments related to the internship that allow them to reflect on the experience. At the end of the course, students present to other students and academy participants with details of their internship experience.

The internship is an important culminating experience for academy students that puts the career skills students have worked on throughout high school into action. The student and the Career Academy Coordinator work together to find an appropriate work placement for the student.
