    • National Academy Foundation. Please take a moment to check out their website and how our membership in their national organization will open new doors and opportunities for our engineering students here at Southeast. As an NAF academy, we have the opportunity to work with some of NAF's national partners which include, but are not limited to: Lenovo, Optum, Verizon, and RTX. These partners help provide internships, job shadowing, and professional development to prepare our students to be future-ready.
    • Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a national program designed to increase the number and quality of engineers graduating from the education system in America. PLTW has developed a four-year program that, when combined with mathematics and science courses in high school, introduces students to the scope, rigor, and discipline of engineering and technology before entering college.
The unique learning environment is designed to give students a highly focused learning experience while presenting a wide variety of elective choices in a large magnet high school setting. The Academy of Engineering & Information Technology introduces students to a wide range of equipment not used in traditional schools or available in most engineering classes. Students will be working with drafting equipment, industry standard 3D software, 3D printer, solderless breadboard kits, Arduino/Raspberry Pi kits, wind tunnel, VEX Robotic kits, and a flight simulator. Enriching field trips are aligned with each course, its curriculum, and state standards.

    Career Academy

Career Academies are personalized small learning communities within a school comprised of a small group of students and teachers for four years. Students are able to complete academy requirements within the regular school day, with the exception of work internships. Career Academies are open for rising Freshmen. Applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis.

Students who are admitted to the Career Academy will begin taking a career academy course in their freshman year to show the applications of academics in real-world situations. After investigating their career interests and completing an entry-level career academy course, students agree to commit to the Career Academy for the remainder of their academic career at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School. This commitment will culminate in an internship during the student's senior year at a local business to see how all of their studies apply in a “real world” situation.

In compliance with federal law, Wake County Public School System administers all education programs, employment activities, and admissions without discrimination against any person on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, national origin, age or disability.
