Habitat for Wake Summer Internship
Habitat Wake is seeking individuals to participate in our Summer of Service internship program. As a Habitat Wake intern, you will select a concentration track and commit to working alongside staff and volunteers to gain new skills. Your positive attitude and volunteer spirit will help support Habitat Wake’s mission to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Summer Social Justice Academy
The Summer Social Justice Academy (SSJA) is an intensive three-week paid hybrid summer experience for youth to explore how to respond to some of society’s most pressing issues. Curriculum topics include mental health, access to high-quality education, contact with the criminal justice system, and economic opportunities. Students will gather for a two-and-a-half-day in-person opening ceremony and orientation, followed by two weeks of virtual content. The Academy will close with an in-person day of celebration and next steps. You can learn more about the Academy here.

- Students will be paid $250.00 to participate.

High School Intern Program
School Intern Program offers students in good academic standing the opportunity to work one semester or consecutive semesters as interns in the various fields at the Department of Transportation. Students learn about the work performed at NCDOT and gain valuable exposure.

Increase brand, follower count, and knowledge of the Firebirds to people in the Triangle

Journalist

Write articles about the Raleigh Firebirds for the team’s website

Interview players

Bring fresh stories and perspectives

Work with social media manager to broadcast these features

Write stories for the Firebirds’ newsletter, Firebird Focus

During the season:

Write pre-game blurbs that can be easily shared on social media

Write short bios for players to be read at various home games

Write post-game report after each and every game

Send post-game report to local media list

Video Editor

Experience with CapCut or some other video software

Edit videos recorded by videographers

Both player highlight tapes and videos of what the Firebirds are up to in the community

Ticket Sales

Work with sales team to sell tickets to people in the Triangle area

Assist in achieving ticket sales targets and revenue goals for the Firebirds

Assist in identifying and prospecting new leads and potential customers
-
Engage with customers via email, phone, and in-person meetings to provide information and ticketing options
Sponsorship Sales
-
Work with sales team to sell corporate sponsorships to companies
-
Assist in achieving revenue goals for the Firebirds
-
Identify prospect companies and reach out to them
-
Assist in creating sponsorship proposals, presentations, and other necessary materials
-
Keep track of sponsors, make sure contractual obligations to them are being fulfilled
Assistant to Team Market Owner
-
Acts as a personal secretary to the Firebirds’ team market owner
-
Sends emails, types documents, makes or answers inquiries to/from fans as needed
-
Help manage Team Market Owner’s schedule
Game-Day Operations
-
Make sure everything happening on game-day runs smoothly
-
Assist in coordinating pre-game, in-game, and post-game activities, including fan engagement initiatives, promotional events, and halftime entertainment
-
Support the setup and teardown of game-day equipment, signage, and promotion materials
-
Assist with crowd management, ticketing, and fan relations during home games
-
Contribute to the development and execution of safety and security protocols for game days
-
Collaborate with sponsors and patterns to activate their game-day promotions and ensure contractual obligations are met
-
Act as a liaison between the team and various vendors, including concessions, merchandise, and entertainment providers
-
Assist in monitoring and evaluating the fan experience to identify areas for improvement
