My name is Brian Harewood, and I am honored to serve the Garner area as the Assistant Principal at Bryan Road Elementary School. After serving as a third grade and fifth grade teacher in New York, I relocated to North Carolina to teach fifth grade and serve as an intervention teacher at Fox Road International Baccalaureate Magnet Elementary School. In 2015, I became an MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) coach. As an MTSS coach, I had the opportunity to confirm my instructional beliefs; to guide teachers to work collaboratively and more efficiently, to use data more effectively, and to approach their work more strategically. My overarching goal is to strengthen the quality of instruction that EVERY single child receives. 

When not ensuring all staff members, parents, and students are set-up and prepared for success, I enjoy traveling, watching movies, and playing sports with my wife and two sons.

I look forward to supporting the Bryan Road staff members, students, parents, and the community by communicating effectively, and collaborating to best meet the needs of every child.
