Ms. Melanie Matheus
My name is Melanie Matheus, and I am originally from Wisconsin! I graduated from the University of Wisconsin La-Crosse in 2019 with a degree in Early Childhood-Middle Childhood Education. I then spent three years teaching 5th grade. After moving to the Raleigh area with my fiancé Austin, this will be my second year here at Bryan Road teaching 3rd grade and my fifth year in education overall.
As a teacher, I hope to create a safe, engaging, and rigorous learning environment for students to learn and reach their highest potential. Building relationships with students and families is one of my favorite parts about teaching.I cannot wait for a fun and successful year!
When I am not teaching, I love to be outdoors whether that is hiking, biking, or on the lake. I also love to read mysteries and thrillers, watch Disney movies, and play board games. A few of my favorite treats are ice cream, any kind of chocolate, and jolly ranchers. A fun fact about me is that I love to do gymnastics/dance and watch the Green Bay Packers. Lastly, my latest obsession is playing pickleball!
