Ms. Saadia Bookhardt-Smith
Hello! My name is Mrs. Smith and I am excited to be your School Social Worker here at Bryan Road! I received my Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Florida State University (Go Noles!). Most of my career experience stems from working with families experiencing homelessness. For a significant period in my career, I pioneered a home teaching program for children from birth to 5 years old. I have a passion for working with children and families to build life skills that will sustain them now, in order to thrive in the future. It’s my role as the School Social Worker to help address barriers that keeps students from being socially and emotionally healthy, academically ready to grow and physically able to flourish. I’m here to create an environment where all students feel affirmed and are able to conquer challenges at school and home. Let’s make this a great school year, Buccaneers!
A little bit more about me:
My husband (Rashad) and I are high school sweethearts from the Sunshine State of Florida. After he joined the military, we traveled to El Paso, Texas and then to Fayetteville, North Carolina with us landing here in Wake County after 7 years. Gabriel and Talea are our two amazing kids that keeps us busy with sports and quality time. We also have an energetic, pied coat Golden Retriever that we named “Goldie”.
