Hello Buccaneer Families! 

 

I am thrilled to be part of the Crew at Bryan Road and love teaching first grade!

 

I grew up in Michigan and attended the University of Michigan where I received my K-6 Certification in Elementary Education and an Early Childhood Endorsement.  After graduation I moved with two friends to Cary, North Carolina and started my teaching career.  I taught Kindergarten, 1^st grade, and 2^nd grade at Farmington Woods and Carpenter Year-Round.  When our 3^rd son was born, I took some time off from teaching to stay home with our boys.  Once our youngest started Kindergarten, I started subbing at their school but then finally came back full-time last year.  I have always said, if I go back to teaching full-time someday, it will be back in 1^st grade.  So, I am SO excited to be back in a grade level I love, with a team I love! 

 

We focus a lot on being a family in first grade.  I strive to make my classroom a fun, engaging place where students feel safe, loved, and challenged.  I want my students to love coming to school each day! 

 

When I’m not at school, you can find me watching one of our 3 boys (16, 15, and 12 yrs. old)  playing a sport they love! We are a NC State loving family and attend the football and basketball games often.  We love soccer and all things sports.  I also enjoy... time with friends, the beach, a good pool day, church, and taking naps!
