Ms. Meg Hughes
Hello Millbrook Families! My name is Meg Hughes and I am so excited for this school year! This is my 14th year of teaching and I am very passionate about it. I consider it an honor to be a teacher at Millbrook Elementary.
I am from Connecticut, but have lived in Raleigh for 10 years. Even though I grew up in Connecticut, I consider Raleigh home. Recently, I became the mother of a little boy named Edelson! I adopted Edelson from Haiti and am so grateful to be able to be his mom.
I am a lifelong learner and I have studied at the University of Maryland and Meredith College. You will usually find a good book tucked away in my backpack!
Why I teach...
I teach because I truly value education and believe in it's importance. I love helping 1st graders reach their academic goals. I teach to support students who might need a little extra help reaching their goals. I love seeing students grow and I love watching them acquire new skills.
What I love about Millbrook...
I love the family and staff that call our school home! I love that each student is valued and considered important. I love that we are supported by our administration and community. It is a joy to teach here!
