I am from Burlington, North Carolina and I enjoy cooking/baking and trying out new recipes! My love of cooking and baking led to my new found love of candle making.

I have 2 daughters and a puppy! My oldest daughter attends college and plans to be a Nurse. My youngest daughter is in high school and enjoys finding Tiktok recipes for us to make. We also have the cutest maltipoo puppy that has become part of our family!

I graduated from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University with my Bachelors in Child Development in 2005. I graduated from Walden University with my Masters in Early Childhood Studies in 2013. I have always loved to teach and started teaching my teddy bears and baby dolls every day after school, as a kindergartner lol! I have taught Head Start, Pre-K and Kindergarten and am super excited about my new role as the Ready to Learn Facilitator at Millbrook. My love of teaching and working with families is encompassed in this role.

Why I teach...

As a 2nd grade student, I was inspired by my teacher, Mrs. Hendrix! I loved that she looked like me. I loved how she talked and dressed and how she made learning so much fun. I love making learning fun for my students and showing up for them in every way!
